Itinerary
Day 1
After completing our local pick-up route, we travel to Dover for our ferry crossing. We then continue to our overnight hotel, making suitable stops for lunch and refreshments along the way. Upon arrival, there will be time to freshen up before enjoying dinner.
Day 2
Today we continue by coach to Passau, where we board our premium floating hotel, MS VIVA TWO. Once on board, you can relax as we set sail along the River Danube.
Day 3: Krems – Walking City Tour & Apricot Tasting
Krems sits at the entrance to the Wachau Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape. One of Austria’s oldest settlements, the area has been inhabited for more than 30,000 years. Visit a traditional apricot farm in the heart of the Wachau and discover how the region’s famous apricots are grown, harvested, and transformed into delicious local specialities. Tour the orchards, learn about the production process from expert growers, and enjoy tastings of a selection of apricot delicacies — a delightful insight into one of the Wachau’s most cherished traditions.
Day 4: Vienna – Walking City Tour
Discover the highlights of Vienna on a panoramic tour of Austria’s elegant capital. Drive along the grand Ringstrasse, passing iconic landmarks including the State Opera, Hofburg Palace, Parliament, and City Hall, before exploring the historic city centre on foot. Stroll through lively streets to the magnificent St Stephen’s Cathedral and soak up the atmosphere of this beautiful imperial city.
Day 5: Budapest – Walking City Tour
Explore the highlights of Budapest on a scenic tour of Hungary’s captivating capital. Day 6: Komárom
This historic town is known for its impressive 19th-century fortress system, Roman ruins, and thermal baths, all set within a charming riverside location.
Day 7: Bratislava – Walking City Tour & Beer Tasting
Discover the charm of Bratislava, Slovakia’s captivating capital, where history and modern life meet at the crossroads of Central Europe. Explore the beautifully restored Old Town on a guided walking tour, admiring its Gothic and Baroque architecture, medieval churches, and lively squares. Round off your visit with a ride on a charming tourist train and a tasting of a traditional Slovak speciality.
Day 8: Melk – Guided Tour of Monastery
Visit the magnificent Melk Abbey, one of Europe’s finest Baroque masterpieces, perched high above the Danube Valley. Explore its grand courtyards, former imperial rooms, the stunning Marble Hall, and terrace, before discovering the world-famous library with more than 80,000 volumes. Day 9: Passau
After breakfast, we disembark with fond memories of our time on the River Danube and meet our coach for the journey to our overnight hotel.
Day 10
We begin our homeward journey, including the return ferry crossing.
