Day 1: After completing our local pick-up route, we head towards Paignton, with suitable stops for lunch and refreshments en route. On arrival at the hotel, there’s time to freshen up before dinner.
Day 2: This morning, we visit Dartmouth Naval College – an institution with more than 150-years of heritage and the only remaining Naval College in the country. A guided tour offers insight into its iconic architecture and fascinating history. Afterwards, enjoy free time in Dartmouth, a beautiful town on the banks of the River Dart. Explore its charming historic streets, art galleries, and independent shops, and enjoy lunch at one of the many cafés, restaurants, or pubs.
Day 3: We begin the day with a visit to Torquay – a traditional Devon seaside town known for its palm trees, busy harbour, international marina, sandy beach, and continental-style cafés and restaurants. In the afternoon, enjoy free time in Paignton. With the seafront and town centre close together, it’s easy to explore. You might visit Paignton Zoo or take a ride on the steam railway – there’s plenty to see and do.
Day 4: Today, we head to Plymouth. First, we visit Plymouth Gin – England’s oldest working distillery, crafting gin since 1793. Learn about its rich history, the distillation process, and the unique botanicals used, followed by a guided tasting. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic harbour cruise – an informative and relaxing way to take in the sights and beauty of Plymouth’s waterfront.
Day 5: Today, we bid a fond farewell to our hosts and begin our journey back to Kent, with suitable stops for lunch and refreshments en route.
