Itinerary

Day 1: After completing our local pick-up route, we head towards Sidmouth, with suitable stops for lunch and refreshments en route. On arrival at the hotel, there’s time to freshen up before dinner.

Day 2: There’s no better way to experience England’s only natural UNESCO World Heritage Site – the Jurassic Coast – than from the water. We enjoy a circular cruise departing from Exmouth Marina, sailing along the oldest section of the site, known as the Triassic Era, with live commentary throughout. Sit back and relax as we sail through time, taking in stunning views of this 185-million-year-old geological portrait, while enjoying a delicious cream tea.

Day 3: A day at leisure to explore Sidmouth. Poet Laureate John Betjeman famously described it as ‘a town caught still in a timeless charm.’ Discover its elegant architecture, independent shops, and beautiful gardens at your own pace.

Day 4: Today we enjoy a scenic day on Dartmoor, visiting highlights such as Postbridge, Princetown, Tavistock, and Buckfast Abbey. A Blue Badge Guide will join us on the coach, bringing the history and sights of this rugged landscape to life with expert commentary.

Day 5: We visit Forde Abbey and Gardens today – a historic house with more than 900-years of rich and varied history. The award-winning gardens feature topiary-lined vistas, colourful herbaceous borders, an arboretum, bog garden, and the highest-powered fountain in the country. There’s plenty to explore, including the house, gardens, coffee shop, pottery exhibition, plant centre, and gift shop.

Day 6: Today, we bid a fond farewell to our hosts and begin our journey back to Kent, with suitable stops for lunch and refreshments en route.
